We are pleased to announce a three-person exhibition
by Anat Parnass, Kanako Ikeda and Miu Kiuchi, from 8th
August (Fri) to 24th August (Sun) at FOIL GALLERY.
Following the two-person exhibition with Aya Saito and
MAYUKO(S)MAYUKO(S)MAYUKO(S), this exhibition will be
the second program of FOIL GALLERY to introduce the
young but promising artists through our original choices.
An Israeli photographer Anat Parnass has been producing
her works while studying at postgraduate university
in Japan. Attracted by the unique colour, which single
lens reflex wouldn't be able to captures, she started
to take pictures with her mobile phone camera. The massive
amount of photographs she takes as if she keeps her
diary, expose her everyday life vividly and realistically.
Kanako Ikeda has repetedly visited Russia since she
was university student, and has photographed the country
through the rapport with the people living there. Without
looking on the country from a biased viewpoint of "cold
and dark", her photographs mildly portraying living
in Russia will give rather calm and warm impression
to the viewers.
Using digital camera, Miu Kiuchi has captured the surface
of the object rather like abstract paintings. Her photographs
display the familiar faces of, like the walls and rubbish
bins on the road using everyday, however, the framed
images make us realize "what we do not see",
although we must be seeing them at all time. The texture
is also clearly confronted to us.
Using different objects, approaches and cameras, the
three artists of the same generation will present each
unique expression of their own at FOIL GALLERY. |
