IANN is an Asian based contemporary art photography magazine, which is edited by a Korean publisher IANN Books and co-published by Foil.
This issue entitled "Bound Together" focuses on editing photography books, inviting 8 artists from inside and outside of Korea. Through dialogues made during interviews for the artists, e-mail exchanging in the process of making pieces, and interviews done for editors by themselves, it digs down deep into editing photography books. You will find pictures shown on featured pages as they are shown in original books, and it enables us to see the reality of seeing photography books.
With books such as "Broken Manual" by Alec Soth, which is extremely rare, and almost like a home-made self-development type of book, "The Mushroom Collector" by Jason Fulford who is an editor as well as a photographer, and "The Sun As Error" by Shannon Ebner, which is filled with various elements of found photos, quotes, and drawings, dialogues on "editing" you can only find here continue.

Hope and desperate, instinct and reason, beauty and ugliness... in the era of chaos, the cries for life in freedom, freedom from the conventional labels, of both domestic and overseas 10 artists are strongly presented. Interview on the theme with each artist is also included in this issue with English, Korean and Japanese language.

Edited by IANN BOOKS, Seoul and co-published with FOIL, Tokyo, IANN is a contemporary art photography magazine dispatched from asia.
To cerebrate its 2nd Anniversary, this special issue "Nameless City" explores the new approach to the city, the most familiar subject yet containing blind spots for contemporary livers. Chikashi Suzuki's (Japan) delicate and fine portrait of the cityscapes, Olivo Barbieri's (Italy) always innovative approach and technique of shooting landscapes, Paul Graham's (U.K.) series of photographs shot like a fixed point observation of inhabitants in a suburbia of America - 9 artists contributed for this volume present the variety of ideas on city and its everyday lives from each different aspect. By integrating fragments of anonymous cities, the volume of photographs highlights image, forms or perhaps memory of what we call "city" in stead of realistically mirroring the actual figures of city itself.

The contemporary art photography magazine IANN, edited in Korea by IANN books and co-published also in Japan by FOIL, is pleased to announce its third volume. In this issue, we focus on a new-generational perspective towards photography under the theme of "Beyond the Silent Paper". Starting from the most edgy and notable young photographer in Japan, Masayuki Shioda, Taisuke Koyama's the senses-stimulating photographs, the world-widely known works of Thomas Demand, which photographed life-size paper-made model of from an ordinary home to the Oval office to Walead Beshty's enthusiastic works to challenge the widely recognized concept "the photographs captures truth and reality", this issue explore the possibility of the photography as "one material", rather than merely an apparatus.
