Surprising Imagination

Ron Mueck- who has set new records of the total number of the visitors at all the museum he held his solo show- is undoubtably one of the most notable artist who has been appreciated in all over the world.

The work "In Bed" shown as a main work in the exhibition "Collection of the Foundation Cartier pour l'art contemporain" at MOT_Tokyo, made a big sensation as a first introduction of his work in Japn.

The unmistakable characteristic of Ron Mueck's works is in, among others, the extremely "realistic" representation and the "unrealistic" size of the works. Numbers of delicate, minute and elaborate works of Ron Mueck portray also the internal working of human, and create an atmospherof unique world of the artist.

To accompany with his first major solo exhibition in Japan at 21st Centrury Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa, his also the first collection book will be published in the end of April, 2008.This book of Ron Mueck will be definitely the best ever book which approaches to the transcendental works of the phenomenal artist!

Ron Mueck: Profile
Born 1958 in Melbourne, Australi. Lives and Works in London. Started his work as a model maker and puppeteer for films and children's television in the late 1970's. After his work "Dead Dad" was included in the Saatchi collection in 1997, he has established his career as one of the most notable contemporary artists who gathers attentions from all over the world.
